Scope and content of this training

This International Standard specifies requirements for an environmental management system to enable an organisation to develop and implement a policy and objectives which take into account legal requirements and other requirements to which the organization subscribes, and information about significant environmental aspect. Those aspects that the organisation can control and those which it can influence.

The course focuses on a spectrum of ISO, to enable participants to acquire knowledge and skills to effectively manage the environment in the workplace. All employees of the organization should clearly understand their environmental roles and responsibilities, as well as understand the importance of the environmental Targets and Objectives that they can affect. Top management defines and documents the responsibilities, authorities and interrelationships of all key environmental personnel.

The ISO 14001 Training Course is detailed and comprehensive. It will introduce the learner to the issues and help establish a much better understanding of the standard and how to address it. It will also introduce the learner to an approach for identifying environmental aspects, the approach to:

     • emissions to air,
     • releases to water,
     • releases to land and use of raw materials and natural resources.
